The Secret Diary of the American Teenager was released as an official companion novel to the television series, The Secret Life of the American Teenager. While the television series centers around the character of Amy Juergens, the companion novel is written from the point of view of Amy's younger sister, Ashley Juergens. It chronicles the first season, plus events from the unseen summer break, from Ashley's perspective. Although the diary was released as a real world book, Ashley is shown writing in the diary in various episodes.
Ashley Juergens is being forced to write in a diary by her school principal and turn it in at the end of every month. Little does she know what she's in for - her sister Amy's pregnancy, her parent's messy divorce and a secret wedding. Property of Ashley Juergens. Read at your own risk (especially you, Amy).
