Benjamin "Ben" Boykewich (Kenny Baumann) (called Benny by Adrian) is the son of the Sausage King, Leo Boykewich, and father of Mercy Boykewich. When Ben was young, his mother, Sarah, died. Her death affected the way Ben and his father lives, but they both are learning to move on a bit. When Ben meets Amy Juergens and figures out her secret, he devotes himself to her. However, in the second season, he becomes more interested in sex which Amy later dumps him, claiming he cheated on her with his girlfriend from Italy. However, in season three they forgave each other, and began dating again. Until he learns Adrian is pregnant with his child.

HistoryEdit

Ben is first seen walking into school with his good friends, Henry and Alice. He sees Amy and is instantly attracted to her. Alice persuades him to ask her out, which he does by phone, and she accepts. They go to the dance together and they are a bit shy with each other at first, but they start connecting as the dance goes on. Ben soon falls in love with her. The two share their first kiss in "I Feel Sick".

Ben soon finds out that Amy is pregnant by Ricky Underwood. He is very jealous, but devotes himself to her and even asks her to marry him. They eventually try to get married, but use fake IDs, making the marriage not legal. Nonetheless, the two remain a close couple. He temporarily breaks up with her in Unforgiven due to his jealousy of Ricky, but they get back together soon after. When she goes into labor, Ben is right by her side (although he faints when things get too painful). After the birth, she tells him how grateful she is to have him.

In the second season, Ben's relationship with Amy faces hardships. Amy is constantly cranky and Ben is wanting to have sex with her. Over the summer, he takes a trip to Italy, where he has a fling with a girl named Maria. When he returns, he is at first hesitant to break up with Amy, but eventually goes through with it. Ben then goes on a date with Grace Bowman which ends in a kiss, but he's not so sure he wants her now that he can have her. At the end of the season 2 episode "The Rhythm of Life", Ben sleeps with Adrian. In the episode "I Got You Babe", Adrian begins to worry that she may be pregnant due to the fact that she switched birth controls around the same time she slept with Ben, meaning that if she is indeed pregnant, the father of her child would be Ben. Adrian discovers whether or not she is pregnant in the season 2 finale episode. Ben's father is also married to a woman named Betty, who Ben approves of.

Season 3 episode 1 " Do Over" Adrian informs Ben that she isn't pregnant. Ben's friend Alice thinks Adrian is not telling the truth about her pregnacy. Ben goes to talk to Adrian, and ask her if she is telling the truth, Adrian lies and say's she is not pregnant.Ben and Amy become a couple again. Ben leaves a message thanking Ricky for taking him over to Amy's house last night, Alice and Henry walk in with papers on early pregnacy tests. Ben tells Alice he doesnt need it Adrian is not pregnant. Later on Ricky gets the message from Ben on his phone and hears when he say's " Adrian is not pregnant". Ricky goes to confront Ben and tells him Adrian is pregnant. Amy invites Ben over for dinner. Ashley knows the truth about Adrian's pregnacy but doesnt tell Ben. Later on in the episode Ben tell's his dad (Leo) , Adrian is pregnant and he's responsible for her pregnacy. Ben is stressed out. Ben's dad (Leo) wants Ben to be involed with the pregnacy, even though Adrian doesn't want him to be involed. Leo wants Ben to be nice to Adrian the same way he was nice to Amy when she was going through this. Ben tells Adrian he told his dad about the pregnacy, Adrian gets really mad because she doesn't anyone to know beside her, Ben, and her mom. Amy is going off to New York for 4 weeks the next day. Leo wants Ben to tell Amy about Adrian's pregnacy but Ben doesn't want to because Amy is going off to New York tomorrow. Leo tells Ben he told Adrian's dad (Ruben) about Adrian being pregnant, Ben gets really mad because he is not supposed to know. Ben visits Ricky, looking for advice on his current situation . Later on Ben drops off Amy at the airport. Adrian tells Ben tomorrow she having an abortion.Adrian overhears her parents arguing about her decision and becomes overwhelmed, deciding to run away to Ben's house for the night. Adrian meets Ricky's mom at the clinic and admits to her that she does not want to be a teenage mother but after talking, she has a change of heart and tells Ben that she will not go through with the abortion. He goes to New York to tell Amy that Adrian is pregnant with his child. Amy is stunned and tells him she never wants to see him again and jumps upset back into her cab. However, in the mid-season finale of season three, they reconcile and promise to always be friends. Ben confesses that he's thinking of asking Adrian to marry him, to which Amy looks a little hurt despite that she has said she is going to try a relationship with Ricky, then Ben goes next door to Adrian's house and kisses her.

In Guess Who's Not Coming to Dinner, Ben askes Adrian to go to dinner with him at Poppi's Tacos, a restaurant they both like. When he calls her again, he tells her that he sent Mike, his driver to come and pick her up. She is shocked, but charmed and meets him at Poppi's Tacos. When she gets there, she discovers that Ben has reserved the entire restaurant for the evening. Ben then kisses her and then gets down on one knee. Adrian, shocked, gasps out, "Ben!" and Ben replies that he loves Adrian and that he would be honored if she would consent to be his wife. Adrian begins to happily start crying and confesses her love for Ben as well. She happily accepts his proposal and Ben stands up and kisses her again. Then Adrian claims the baby is kicking and Ben feels his new fiancee's belly.

In Deeper and Deeper, he and Adrian will look at potential condos for themselves. Ben expresses his concearn for Adrian going out every night to look with him and Adrian says that besides having a baby, this is the best thing that's ever happened to her. They're at school during this conversation, and as Adrian closes her locker, she said, with a smile and a twinkle in her eye, "Later, Benny," to which Ben looks very confused.

Adrian and Ben started to have an intimate relationship when they both wanted to get back at their ex's Amy and Ricky because of a kiss. After getting back at them, Adrian finds out she is pregnant and tells Ben. They begin spending time together and developing a relationship. She says she truly loves Ben.

They then decided to get engaged and bought a condo, which they live together in. Later their daughter dies and Adrian starts to push Ben away. Ben, not wanting to deal with their grief, tells Leo that he doesn't want to be married. But he seemed to be flattered that Adrian wanted to get pregnant with his baby.
